About

Built inside the businesses that run it.

Records ERP did not start as a specification. It started on a factory floor in Kenya — a plastics manufacturer producing at one site, trucking to another and selling from a third, with the books kept in one place and the factory in another. There was no well-known system built for that. So this is one.

Most of it exists because somebody was standing there.

Almost nothing in here came off a feature list. It came from watching who writes what down, in which book, and where two versions of the same day stop agreeing.

That is why one product can be counted in kilos and in sacks at the same time. Why the factory and the books are one system rather than an accounting package with the operation left in a spreadsheet. Why a store can be allowed to go negative when the sales team is ahead of the store team, rather than blocking the sale. Why a customer can open their own statement on a phone without an account.

The whole thing is built on the assumption that the person using it is busy, was not consulted about the software, and has better things to do than learn it.

What you can hold us to.

We are a small company, and you are being asked to run your business on our software. These three are the ones you can check yourself, today.

The roadmap is public.

What shipped recently and what is being built now are on one page, without anybody having to ask. There are no dates on it: a date on a roadmap becomes a promise, and a missed one costs more than the date was ever worth.

Your records leave whenever you want.

Every customer, product, invoice, payment, supplier and bill downloads as a spreadsheet — or all of it at once, in one file — from inside the system, without asking anybody. Nothing is held back to make leaving difficult.

You get a person, in Nairobi.

Within 5 hours, usually on WhatsApp, from the people who build it. We are small enough that the person who answers can change the thing you are complaining about.

Have a look for yourself.

Set it up with one of your own products, and check the figures against what you already have.
